20 corporators of SMC join party, leaders welcome them into party fold

We are heading towards emerging single largest party in SMC: Alam

The party, with its vision to bring about self sustaining development across all the three regions of the state, was today joined by 13 corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

Those who joined the party are Ms Sumaira Akhtar, Ms Nazira, Ms Inayat Ahmed, Mr Aqib Renzu, Mr Arif Baba, Mr Waheed Dar, Mr Farooq Mir, Mr Ashraf Palapori, Ms Fancy Ashraf Jan, Mr Shezad, Ms Nighat, Ms Kulsuma and Mr Firdous Ahmed.

The corporators joined the party in presence of party Vice President, Mr Abdul Rehman Veeri & other senior leaders including Mr Muhammad Khurshid Aalam, Mr Muhammad Ashraf Mir and Mr Ajaz Ahmed Rather.

On the occasion, party senior leader Mr Muhammad Khurshid Aalam said that besides these 13 corportors, 4 others are also ready to join the party, however, they are stranded in Jammu.

He said J&K PDP has become the party with largest number of Corporators in its kitty. He said that the joining of Corporators implies that J&K PDP led by Ms Mehbooba Mufti is a vibrant force that is pro-people.

 

A rousing welcome was accorded to 20 corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation who announced their formal entry into J&K PDP.

Welcoming them into the party fold, Party Vice President Mr Abdul Rehman Veeri termed the entry of the corporators a positive step towards strengthening of the party at the grass roots. Veeri urged upon the new entrants to work tirelessly for the downtrodden and represent the unrepresented with earnest efforts and impeccable will. 

Srinagar District President Mohammad Khurshid Alam on the occasion stated that with the joining of these corporators, J&K PDP is heading towards emerging as a single largest party in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation. Mr Alam said the new entrants  must prioritize addressing peoples’ woes and making themselves available for masses in times of need. “This is what our founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has taught us while laying the  foundations of the PDP. To take this legacy forward, every person associated with the PDP must commit him/ herself to address peoples woes and highlight their hardships,” said Alam. 

Other senior PDP leaders and legislators who were present on the occasion include Mr Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Ms Asiya Naqash, Mr Noor Mohammad, Dr Ali Mohammad, Mr Aijaz Ahmad Rather, Mr Aijaz Qureshi and several others.
