Calling security withdrawal of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq an unwise decision, the party has said that Mirwaiz is not only leader of Hurriyat Conference but a reputed religious scholar and Chief Cleric of Jammu & Kashmir who is one of the top Muslim leaders of the world.
“ Mirwaiz Umar Farooq figures at number nine in the list of ‘Top-10 Muslim Leaders’ in the field of politics in the Islamic world prepared by the prestigious Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre (RISSC), Jordon few years back and withdrawing his security on the direction of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is not only unfortunate but an insult to Muslim world “ said Engineer Nazir Yatoo, Provincial President of party Youth Wing.
“Mirwaiz family has a great history and legacy vis a vis their contribution not only in the field of Islamic studies but they have played a great role towards spreading modern education in Kashmir as well. Keeping aside his political thought and ideology Government of India must rethink about the decision of withdrawing his security,” he said.
